The following features have been implemented to support accessibility across this website:

• Logical and consistent page structure using semantic HTML5 elements
• Clear heading hierarchy with descriptive headings and labels
• Sufficient colour contrast between foreground and background elements, meeting WCAG 2.2 Level AA contrast ratios
• Full keyboard navigability — all functionality is operable without a mouse
• Skip-to-content link available at the top of each page to bypass repeated navigation
• Descriptive alt text for all meaningful images; purely decorative images carry an empty alt attribute so screen readers skip them
• Text that can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
• No use of flashing content or autoplaying media
• Forms carry clearly associated labels and accessible error messages

6. Known limitations

The following areas do not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Work is ongoing to address each one.

Legacy PDF documents

Some older PDF documents linked from this website may not be fully accessible. Specific issues may include: documents not tagged for screen reader use, missing text alternatives, and poor reading order. These documents are being reviewed and updated as part of an ongoing accessibility programme.

Current testing is carried out using Google Lighthouse, which assesses the website across all four pillars: SEO, Best Practice, Accessibility, and Performance. Lighthouse audits are run routinely and following any significant changes to the website.

The following additional testing methods are being introduced as part of the ongoing accessibility review programme:

• Automated testing using WAVE
• Manual keyboard navigation testing across key user journeys
• Screen reader testing across macOS, iOS, and Windows
• Cross-browser and cross-device testing across Chrome, Firefox, and Safari on desktop and mobile

These methods will be incorporated into the routine review process and this statement will be updated to reflect completed testing.
